Applesauce Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sifted flour
    3 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. cloves
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 c. butter or Crisco
    1/2 c. chopped nuts
    1 c. sugar
    1 egg, beaten
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. raisins
    1 1/2 c. applesauce (unsweetened)
Preparation
    Cream Crisco and sugar; add egg, then applesauce.
    Add dry ingredients a little at a time.
    Then add raisins, nuts and vanilla.
    Pour into large loaf pan, Teflon or line pan with wax paper.
    (Makes two small loaf pans.)
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour or until done, testing with a toothpick in the middle of cake until toothpick is clean.
