Rigatoni Alla Vodka With Shrimp - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 Tbsp. butter
    1 medium size onion, diced
    1 clove garlic, chopped
    3 basil leaves, chopped
    1/2 c. vodka
    1 (14 oz.) can whole tomatoes
    1/2 pt. heavy cream
    1 lb. peeled and deveined shrimp
    1 lb. rigatoni, cooked al dente and drained
    basil leaves for garnish (optional)
Preparation
    In medium saucepan, melt butter.
    Cook onion, garlic and basil until soft (medium heat, 8 to 10 minutes).
    Add vodka.
    Raise heat to boil.
    Stir frequently.
    Simmer until 1/4 of mixture evaporates and vodka aroma subsides.
