French Cream Pie - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. sugar
2 c. milk
4 eggs
4 2/3 Tbsp. cornstarch
1 Tbsp. vanilla
4 Tbsp. butter
1 c. coconut
baked pie shell
Preparation

Scald sugar and 2 cups milk in top of double boiler; mix egg yolks, cornstarch and 2/3 cup milk until smooth.
Add to milk mixture.
Cook until thick, stirring constantly.
Remove from fire. Add pinch of salt, vanilla and butter.
Stir until butter melts. Add grated coconut.
Pour into cooled, baked pie shell.
Top with meringue or use whipped cream.
Also makes a good banana cream pie.
