Pumpkin Cookies And Icing - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shortening or butter
    1/2 c. light brown sugar
    1/2 c. granulated sugar
    1 c. canned pumpkin
    1 egg
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. flour
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Cream butter or shortening and sugar together.
    Add pumpkin, egg and vanilla; mix well.
    Add sifted dry ingredients; blend well.
    Add nuts.
    Drop from teaspoon onto an ungreased cookie sheet.
    Bake for 10 to 12 minutes.
    Cool and frost.
    Makes 6 1/2 dozen.
