Grandma'S Fried Green Tomatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2/3 c. flour
    1/3 c. corn meal
    2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1/2 c. vegetable oil
    3 lb. green tomatoes, cut in 1/4 to 1/2-inch slices
Preparation
    Combine flour, corn meal, salt and pepper in pie plate; dip tomato slices, covering both sides.
    Pour oil in 12-inch skillet; over medium heat, fry slices, a few at a time, until golden brown on both sides and heated through.
    Drain on paper towels.
    Add more oil to skillet if needed.
