Wilted Lettuce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 strips bacon, cut into pieces
    1/2 c. vinegar
    3 Tbsp. water
    1/2 c. sugar
    3/4 tsp. salt
    4 green onions
    1 bunch leaf lettuce (large)
Preparation
    Cook bacon until crisp in skillet; add vinegar, water, sugar, salt and heat. Cut onions fine; pull lettuce apart.
    Mix and just before serving, pour mixture over the lettuce.
    Stir well.
