Ingredients

3/4 c. shortening (Crisco)
1 1/4 c. firmly packed light brown sugar
2 Tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
1 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 c. coarsely chopped pecans
Preparation

Heat oven to 375\u00b0.
Combine shortening, brown sugar, milk and vanilla in large bowl.
Beat at medium speed.
Beat egg into creamed mixture.
Combine flour, salt and baking soda.
Mix into creamed mixture.
Blend well.
Add chips (chocolate) and pecans. Drop rounded tablespoonfuls of dough 3-inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheet 8 to 10 minutes (bake).
Makes 3 dozen cookies.
