Turtle Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 box German chocolate cake mix
    1 (14 oz.) bag caramels
    4 oz. evaporated milk
    1 c. chocolate chips
    1 c. chopped pecans
Preparation
    Prepare cake mix as directed on the box.
    Pour 1/2 of the mixture into a prepared 9 x 13-inch pan.
    Bake for 15 minutes. While that's baking, melt caramels and milk in microwave.
    After 15 minutes of baking, remove cake from oven and pour caramel mixture on top of it.
    Add chocolate chips and pecans and place back into oven for an additional 15 to 20 minutes.
    Cool.
    Serve with Cool Whip.
