Sponge Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

6 egg whites
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/3 c. Softasilk cake flour, sifted
6 egg yolks
1/4 c. water
1/4 tsp. lemon extract
1/2 tsp. baking powder
Preparation

Beat egg whites and cream of tartar in a large bowl to soft peaks. Beat at high speed in electric mixer. Add 1/2 cup of sugar, gradually sprinkling 2 tablespoons at a time, to the egg whites and continue to beat until very stiff peaks are formed. Do not underbeat.
