Cashew Brittle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 c. water
    1/2 tsp. butter
    1/4 c. light corn syrup
    1 c. salted cashews
    1/8 tsp. baking soda
Preparation
    Combine sugar, water, corn syrup and butter in a saucepan. Stir over medium heat to 300\u00b0 on candy thermometer.
    Add cashews. Cook until thermometer reaches 310\u00b0.
    Stir in baking soda.
    Pour into lightly greased 9-inch square pan.
    Smooth out to fill the pan.
    Let stand until cold, then break into pieces.
    Makes about 1 pound.
