Katie'S Jambalaya - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. butter
    1/2 c. diced onion
    1/4 c. diced green pepper
    1 lb. ground beef
    2 strips bacon, diced
    1 (No. 2 1/2) can tomatoes (1 lb. 13 oz.)
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. sugar
    1/4 tsp. thyme
    1 1/3 c. packaged precooked rice
Preparation
    Melt butter in skillet.
    Add onions, green pepper, ground beef and bacon.
    Cook, stirring often until meat is browned.
    Spoon off excess fat.
    Drain tomatoes, measuring juice.
    Add water to juice to make 1 1/2 cups.
    Add the liquid, tomatoes, salt, sugar and thyme to mixture in skillet.
    Cover and simmer 5 minutes longer.
