Deluxe Hash Browns - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 slices bacon, cut up
    4 medium potatoes, peeled
    1 egg
    2 Tbsp. minced green onion
    1/4 tsp. salt
    dash of pepper
    1 c. shredded Swiss cheese (optional)
Preparation
    Cook bacon until crisp; drain well.
    In a large bowl, shred potatoes.
    Stir in all other ingredients; mix well.
    Drop by 1/3 cup into hot bacon grease.
    With a turner, press into 3-inch patties.
    Fry for 8 to 10 minutes, until brown, turning once.
