Party Applesauce Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1/2 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 c. unsweetened applesauce
2 1/2 c. sifted flour
3/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. allspice
2 tsp. baking soda in 1/2 c. boiling water
1 c. raisins
1/2 c. nutmeats

Preparation

Cream shortening and sugar; add egg and applesauce.
Add sifted dry ingredients, raisins and nuts.
Add boiling water with soda dissolved in it.
Bake in 9 x 13-inch pan at 350\u00b0 for about 45 minutes.
