Hard Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. light corn syrup
    2/3 c. water
    1/2 tsp. flavoring oils
    few drops food coloring
Preparation
    Line
    a
    cookie
    sheet with heavy foil; lightly grease. Butter sides of heavy 2 quart saucepan.
    Add sugar, syrup and water. Bring
    to
    a
    boil, stirring constantly until sugar is dissolved. Cook over medium heat to 300\u00b0 on candy thermometer (hard
    crack). Remove
    from
    heat, add flavoring oil and food coloring immediately.
    Pour\tonto prepared pan at once.
    When candy begins to harden around edges, cut into bite size pieces with shears. Coat lightly with powdered sugar.
    Yield:
    About 1 1/2 pounds.
