Green Beans With Almonds - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. fresh green beans, cut or left whole
    2 c. boiling water
    3/4 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. sugar
    1/2 c. blanched slivered almonds
    1/4 to 1/2 c. butter
Preparation
    Place
    green beans in kettle of salted water with sugar added. Cook,
    covered,
    until
    barely
    tender
    (from 10 to 25 minutes). Drain but keep hot for serving.
