Corn Cakes - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. Nunn-Better corn meal
1/2 Tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 c. boiling water
2/3 c. sweet milk
1 c. Nunn-Better flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 egg
Preparation

Put the corn meal, sugar and salt in a mixing bowl.
Pour the boiling water over them.
Let this stand until the corn meal swells, then add the cold sweet milk.
When cool, stir in the flour and baking powder; mix well.
Add well beaten egg.
Bake on hot griddle until cooked through and well browned.
