Irish American Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. chuck, cubed
    bacon drippings (6 strips)
    salt and pepper to taste
    1 large onion, sliced
    1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
    1 c. tomato juice
    2/3 c. water
    2 bay leaves
    parsley to taste
    5 to 6 medium potatoes, diced
    6 to 7 carrots, sliced
Preparation
    Brown meat slowly in bacon drippings over medium heat.
    (Do not flour.)
    Place meat in crock-pot and add remaining ingredients.
    Cook overnight.
