Home-Canned Pork And Beans - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. navy beans
    1 lb. bacon, cut in small pieces
    4 tsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. molasses
    6 tsp. prepared mustard
    1 1/2 c. catsup
    8 Tbsp. brown sugar
    2 c. chopped onion (optional)
Preparation
    Wash beans thoroughly.
    Cover with cold water and soak overnight.
    Boil in same water for 45 minutes.
    Drain beans, reserving liquid.
    Add all ingredients to beans and 2 cups bean liquid.
    Mix well.
    Pack in clean jars to within 1-inch of top. Put on cap and screw firmly tight.
    Process pints and quarts 60 minutes at 10 pounds pressure.
    Yields 8 pints.
