Tabouli - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. dry bulgur wheat
    1 1/2 c. boiling water
    1 to 1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1/3 c. fresh lemon juice
    1/4 c. olive oil
    2 to 3 cloves garlic, crushed
    black pepper to taste
    4 scallions, finely minced
    1 packed c. parsley, minced
    1/4 c. fresh mint, minced (1 to 2 Tbsp. dried mint)
    2 to 3 tomatoes, diced
    lettuce, finely shredded
    1 c. beans (white or brown) *
    1 egg
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pili-pili (a very hot African red pepper) or any type of hot pepper substitute
    1 small onion, chopped finely
Preparation
    *There are many different varieties of beans (brown, white, red speckled, stripped or you name it!) in Africa because beans are the protein substitute in the place of meats.
    You could substitute any dried bean.
