Candied Sauerkraut - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (2 lb.) pkg. kraut, drained and rinsed
    1 medium onion, chopped fine
    3/4 c. white sugar
    2 c. tomato juice or stewed tomatoes (add third cup if necessary)
    1 tsp. celery seed
    garlic powder (shake lightly over dish)
    1/2 lb. bacon (do not cook), cut into small pieces
Preparation
    Spread kraut in 9 x 13-inch baking dish.
    Sprinkle with onion, celery seed, garlic powder, sugar and bacon.
    Pour tomatoes over all.
    Bake 3 hours at 325\u00b0 (if it gets too dry, add more tomatoes).
    Dish should be moist, but not runny, when served.
    Do not cover while baking.
