Favorite Christmas Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. butter
    6 egg yolks
    1 lb. sifted cake flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 c. whiskey or brandy (I use apricot)
    1 lb. white raisins
    1 lb. chopped pecans
    6 egg whites, almost stiffly beaten
    whiskey or brandy cheesecloth
Preparation
    Cream together butter and sugar.
    Beat in egg yolks.
    Add dry ingredients, flour, salt and baking powder alternately with 1/2 cup whiskey.
    Stir in white raisins and nuts.
    Fold in beaten egg whites.
    Turn into well-greased and sugared Bundt or angel food pan.
    Bake in preheated 300\u00b0 oven for approximately 2 hours.
    Cool, remove from pan.
    Wrap cake in cheesecloth wet with additional whiskey.
    Wrap in foil and store in tin, tightly covered.
    Aging makes it better!
