Lemon Rounds - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. (1/2 lb.) butter or margarine, softened
    2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
    2 eggs
    2 tsp. grated lemon peel
    3 Tbsp. lemon juice
    2 c. regular all-purpose flour (unsifted)
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. soda
    3 c. quick cooking, rolled oats
    1 1/2 c. chopped dates
    1 c. chopped walnuts
Preparation
    Cream margarine and sugar together until smooth.
    Beat in eggs, lemon peel and lemon juice.
    In a separate bowl, stir together the flour, salt and soda.
    Stir into the margarine mixture.
    Then stir in oats, dates and nuts until combined.
    Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls on ungreased cookie sheets, about 2 inches apart.
    Bake in a 350\u00b0 oven for about 18 minutes or until dry in center and edges are well browned.
