Busy Day Fruit Cobbler - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. fruit (canned or frozen)
    2 Tbsp. shortening
    1/4 c. sugar
    1 egg
    1 c. self-rising flour
    1/2 c. milk
Preparation
    Put fruit in greased 8 x 8-inch pan.
    If fruit is very juicy, mix 1 tablespoon cornstarch with each cup juice.
    Cream shortening and sugar.
    Mix in egg.
    Add flour and milk.
    Mix until smooth. Pour over fruit in pan.
    Bake in 375\u00b0 oven for about 30 minutes.
