Cucumber Pickles(9 Day Pickles) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    10 medium cucumbers
    8 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. pickling spice
    5 tsp. salt
    4 c. cider vinegar
Preparation
    Put whole cucumbers in large mouthed jar and cover with boiling water.
    Let stand overnight.
    Next a.m. pour off water and cover again
    with boiling water.
    Repeat procedure 3 days. On day 5,\tslice
    cucumbers
    in
    1/2-inch slices.\tCombine all ingredients and bring
    to
    a
    boil;
    pour over cucumbers.
    Let stand 2 days.
    On 3rd day, bring all to a boil and pack in hot sterilized jars.
    Makes approximately 3 pints.
