Sauerkraut Casserole From Netherlands - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 qt. sauerkraut
    3 medium-sized potatoes, cubed
    2 to 3 c. water
    1 tsp. ginger
    3 bay leaves
    2 or 3 c. cubed beef or pork
Preparation
    Brown meat in small amount of fat, then add water, ginger and bay leaves.
    Stew together.
    Add potatoes and sauerkraut; cook until potatoes are soft (at least 1 hour to blend flavors).
    The Dutch people simmer this dish for hours over low heat while they are busy working in the fields.
    Reheating enhances the flavor.
