Three Layer Irish Potato Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    3/4 c. butter
    2 c. self-rising flour
    1/2 c. sweet milk
    1 (8 oz.) jar red cherries (keep out 6 to cut in half for top of cake)
    1 tsp. allspice
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    1 c. cold mashed Irish potatoes
    1 c. pecans, chopped
    1/3 c. cocoa
    1 tsp. cloves
    1 tsp. cinnamon (ground)
Preparation
    Mix all ingredients.
    Bake layers at 300\u00b0 for 35 to 40 minutes, or until tests done.
