Cornbread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. self-rising cornmeal
1 large egg, beaten
1 c. buttermilk
2 Tbsp. shortening
water
Preparation

Preheat oven at 425\u00b0.
Melt shortening in large iron skillet until sizzling.
Stir all remaining ingredients together except water. Thin mixture slowly with water until runny.
Pour into hot grease.
Bake at 425\u00b0 for 20 to 30 minutes until golden brown.
