Baked Custard - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 to 5 eggs
    1/3 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1 qt. milk
    1/4 tsp. salt
    small amount of butter
Preparation
    Heat milk, sugar and salt; add lightly beaten eggs slowly to the hot milk mixture.
    Add vanilla and butter.
    Pour into custard dishes.
    Sprinkle lightly with cinnamon and nutmeg.
    Bake in a pan of hot water until custard is set (when the point of a knife comes out clean, then the custard is done).
    Remove the custard dishes from the hot water and serve.
    This is to be baked at 375\u00b0.
