Cross-Patch Potatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    medium or large potatoes
    shortening
Preparation
    Wash and wipe potatoes.
    Cut in half lengthwise.
    Score tops in 1/2-inch squares, making cuts 1/2-inch deep.
    Brush skins and tops with shortening.
    Bake in 450\u00b0 oven 40 to 50 minutes or until brown and tender.
