Deep Dish Apple Pie - cooking recipe

1/2 pastry recipe
8 medium tart apples
1/4 c. sugar
3 tsp. flour
1/2 tsp. grated lemon rind
1 tsp. lemon juice
1 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/8 tsp. salt
3 Tbsp. butter or margarine
Preparation

Wash, pare and slice apples into a bowl and sprinkle with lemon juice.
Mix sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt and lemon rind together.
Add apples; toss.
Arrange in a 9-inch deep dish pie pan and dot with butter.
Roll out pastry; mark top and adjust on top of apples.
Bake in a preheated oven at 400\u00b0 for 40 minutes or until done.
