Flank Steak Oriental - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. scallions
    1/4 c. soy sauce
    1/4 c. dry sherry or chicken broth
    2 Tbsp. peanut or vegetable oil
    1 tsp. sugar
    1/2 tsp. garlic powder
    1 1/2 lb. flank steak, pounded to 1/2-inch thickness
    1 (8 oz.) can water chestnuts
    1/2 c. cut carrots
    1/2 c. celery
Preparation
    In baking dish, combine scallions, soy sauce, sherry or broth, oil, sugar and garlic powder.
    Add steak; turn once to coat. Cover and marinate 40 minutes.
    Combine remaining ingredients. Remove steak from marinade.
    Spread half of vegetables over entire surface of steak.
    Starting with long side, roll steak jelly roll fashion with the grain.
    Secure with wooden toothpick.
