Baked Alaska - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 large egg whites
    1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
    1 c. sugar
Preparation
    Place individual sponge cake cups or pieces of cake on a board. Fill the center of each with a scoop of flavored ice cream.
    Place in freezer while preparing Special Meringue.
    Beat 6 large egg whites with 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar until frothy.
    Beat in gradually, 1 cup sugar.
    Continue beating until meringue is stiff and glossy.
    Cover cake and ice cream with Special Meringue, sealing meringue to board.
