Florida Punch - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    3 liters ginger ale, chilled (1 liter will be used for ice mold)
    orange slices
    stemmed maraschino cherries
    4 c. cranberry juice, chilled
    4 c. pineapple juice, chilled
    2 c. orange juice, chilled
Preparation
    Combine sugar and water in medium sized saucepan; boil for 3 minutes until syrupy.
    Chill.
    Combine 1 liter of ginger ale with orange slices and cherries in a mold; freeze.
    Combine chilled sugar-water and juices in large punch bowl.
    Before serving, add 2 liters of chilled ginger ale and ice mold.
    Makes about 40 (1/2 cup) servings.
