Mother'S Prize Spice Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. butter
    2 c. brown sugar
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    3 c. sifted flour, plain
    2 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    1/2 tsp. cloves
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 c. buttermilk
Preparation
    Grease\tand
    line
    two 9-inch cake pans with wax paper. Cream butter.
    Add sugar gradually, cream well.
    Sift together flour and
    spices.
    Add alternately the flour mixture and the buttermilk.
    Mix
    well.
    Bake
    at
    375\u00b0
    for 25 to 30 minutes. Remove
    from oven; let stand 5 minutes.
    Remove from pan; peel off paper.
    Frost with caramel frosting.
