Date-Nut Coffee Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

2 1/4 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 egg
1 c. buttermilk
1/2 c. melted margarine
1 c. finely cut dates
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1/4 c. cooled melted margarine

Preparation

Combine sugar, cinnamon and nuts.
Sprinkle over batter. Drizzle melted margarine evenly over topping.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 35 to 40 minutes.
Cool in pan 10 minutes.
Remove from pan and cool on rack.
When cool, decorate with confectioners sugar, if desired.
