Praline Peach Cobbler - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. and 2 tsp. sugar, divided
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    8 c. peaches, peeled and sliced
    1/2 c. shortening
    3 Tbsp. butter, melted
    1 c. chopped pecans
    2 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1 c. water
    2 c. self-rising flour
    1/2 c. buttermilk
    1/4 c. packed brown sugar
Preparation
    In a saucepan, mix 1 1/2 cups sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon and water.
    Stir until smooth.
    Add peaches.
    Cook and stir until thickened and bubbly.
    Cook and stir for 2 minutes more.
    Pour into a lightly greased 9 x 13 x 2-inch baking dish.
    Set aside.
