Shoyu Chicken #1 - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 to 4 lb. chicken (fryer)
1/2 c. shoyu (soy sauce)
1/2 c. water
3 Tbsp. brown sugar
1 small piece 8 cornered spice (use \"Sun Luck\" brand Chinese style Five Spice; 1/4 tsp.)
1 slice crushed ginger
1 tsp. wine or saki
1 tsp. thick red miso (optional)
Chinese parsley (optional)
chopped green onions (optional)
Preparation

Marinate whole chicken in all of the ingredients. Bring to a boil, then simmer with cover on pot, 25 to 30 minutes or until tender. Turn chicken over once while simmering to brown evenly. Cool, then chop into small pieces and arrange on platter.
Top with Chinese parsley and chopped green onions, if desired.
