Kansas Chocolate Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

2 c. sugar
1 c. shortening
3 eggs
1/2 tsp. salt
3 c. sifted flour
1 1/2 tsp. soda
2/3 c. cocoa
1/2 c. hot coffee
1 1/2 c. buttermilk
2 tsp. vanilla

Preparation

Cream sugar and shortening; add eggs.
Sift flour and other ingredients together and all alternately with milk.
Cook in 3 layers at 350\u00b0.
