Ingredients

3 medium size onions
3 large bell peppers
4 stalks celery
2 Tbsp. shortening or oil
1 (29 oz.) can tomato sauce
15 oz. water
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. pepper
1 tsp. paprika
1 tsp. chili powder
1/2 tsp. oregano leaves
1 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. sugar
Preparation

Cut onions, peppers and celery fine.
Cook onions, peppers and celery in shortening (or oil) for 30 minutes.
Add tomato sauce, water and all other ingredients and simmer (slow flame) for one hour.
Use with white crust pizza dough; not as good on whole wheat.
Spread sauce on pizza and sprinkle oregano lightly. Favorite toppings with sauce:
Colby, Cheddar cheese and ham. Usually bake pizza at about 400\u00b0 for 15 minutes.
