Braised Sirloin Tips - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. shortening
    2 lb. beef sirloin, cut into thin strips
    1 can beef consomme
    1/3 c. red Burgundy or cranberry cocktail
    2 Tbsp. soy sauce
    1 clove garlic, minced
    1/4 tsp. onion salt
    2 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1/4 c. water
Preparation
    Melt shortening, brown meat.
    Stir in the consomme, wine, soy sauce, garlic and onion salt.
    Simmer 1 hour or until meat is tender.
    Blend cornstarch and water; stir into meat mixture. Serve over hot cooked rice or noodles.
    I also use either round or venison steak.
