German Chocolate Caramel Brownies - cooking recipe

1 box German Chocolate cake mix
2/3 c. evaporated milk, divided
1 1/2 sticks butter, softened
1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
14 oz. pkg. Kraft caramels
Preparation

Unwrap and melt caramels with 1/3 c. evaporated milk at low heat in microwave; set aside.
Combine cake mix, remaining 1/3 c. evaporated milk and butter.
Combine by hand until dough is mixed. Press 1/2 of the batter in a well greased 13 x 9 pan.
Bake at 350 degrees for 6 minutes.
Remove from oven, sprinkle chocolate chips over the baked batter and spread caramel mixture.
Crumble remaining batter over top.
Bake for 15-18 minutes.
Cool.
