Steve'S Coffeecake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. sugar
1/4 c. shortening
1 c. milk
1 egg
1 tsp. salt
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
brown sugar
butter or margarine

Preparation

Mix dry ingredients with shortening.
Add milk and egg; fold lightly and place in 8 or 9-inch baking pan.
Spread batter generously with brown sugar and dot closely with butter or margarine.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes or until cake springs back when touched in center.
