Our Favorite Devil'S Food Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 c. margarine (soft)
    3 oz. unsweetened chocolate, melted
    1/4 c. water
    2 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
    3 egg whites
    3/4 c. light brown sugar, firmly packed
    3 egg yolks
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. milk
Preparation
    Cream sugar and margarine.
    Add melted chocolate.
    Beat egg yolks; add water and extract and blend.
    Gradually add yolk mixture to chocolate mixture; beat until light and fluffy.
    Sift flour, soda and salt together.
    Add alternately with milk, blending well after each addition.
    Beat egg whites until stiff but not dry; fold into batter.
    Pour into 2 greased and floured 9-inch round cake pans or one 13 x 9 x 2-inch loaf pan.
    Bake in a 350\u00b0 oven for about 30 to 35 minutes, or until cake springs back when touched lightly.
