Orange Slice Candy Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. dates, chopped
    1 lb. candy orange slices
    2 c. chopped pecans
    1 can Angel Flake coconut
    1/2 c. buttermilk
    1/2 to 1 c. orange juice
    1 c. oleo
    2 c. sugar
    4 eggs
    1 tsp. soda
    3 1/2 c. flour
    1 c. powdered sugar
Preparation
    Cream oleo and sugar until smooth.
    Add eggs, one at a time; beat well.
    Dissolve soda in buttermilk and add dates, orange slices (chopped finely) and nuts.
    Coat fruit well.
    Add flour mixture and coconut to creamed mixture.
    This makes a very stiff dough.
    Put in greased floured 13 x 9-inch or Bundt pan.
    Bake at 250\u00b0 for about 2 1/2 hours.
    Combine orange juice and powdered sugar.
    Pour over hot cake.
