Hush Puppies - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 1/2 c. corn meal
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/4 c. chopped onion
1/4 c. buttermilk
1/3 c. water

Preparation

Combine all ingredients through the onion and mix.
Add water and buttermilk and stir just enough to moisten dry ingredients. Drop by rounded teaspoons into hot oil (375\u00b0) and fry until golden brown, turning once.
Drain on paper towels.
Makes 30 to 40 hush puppies.
