Coconut Cream Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 can evaporated milk (14 oz)
    1 c water or regular milk
    1/2 c sugar
    1/8 tsp salt
    5 Tbsp flour
    12 oz coconut (1 cup)
    3 egg yolks
    3 egg whites
    1/2 tsp cream of tartar
    3 Tbsp sugar
    1 tsp vanilla
    2 baked pie shells
Preparation
    Pour milk (& water or regular milk) into saucepan, heat to almost boiling.
    Mix sugar, flour, egg yolks vanilla salt -add to hot milk, stirring till mixture thickens.
    Add coconut. Pour into 2 baked pie shells.
    For meringue, beat egg whites until peaks form.
    Add 3 Tbsp sugar and 1 tsp vanilla.
    Beat 2 minutes. Spread on custard in pie shell.
    Sprinkle with more coconut.
    Brown in 350 degree oven.
