Brown Rice Strata - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 2/3 c. water
    1 c. brown rice
    1 tsp. salt
    1 Tbsp. margarine
    1/2 c. slivered almonds
    2 Tbsp. chopped pimento
    8 oz. processed American cheese, shredded
    1 pkg. (10 oz.) frozen chopped broccoli, well drained
    3 eggs, beaten
    1 1/2 c. milk
    1 Tbsp. minced onion
    1 tsp. Dijon-type mustard
    dash of red pepper
    1 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Cook rice with water, 1 teaspoon salt and margarine for 45 to 50 minutes.
    Spoon about half the rice into buttered 8 x 8 x 2-inch baking dish.
    Arrange broccoli over rice; dot with pimento. Sprinkle with about 3/4 cup cheese.
    Spoon on remaining rice in even layer.
    Combine last six ingredients and pour over rice mixture. Sprinkle with remaining cheese and almonds.
    Cover and refrigerate at least 2 hours.
    Uncover and bake at 300\u00b0 until top is brown, about 1 hour and 15 minutes to 1 1/2 hours.
    Let stand about 5 minutes before cutting.
    Makes 6 servings.
