Seven Layer Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 head lettuce (medium size), sliced
    2 stalks chopped celery
    2 to 3 chopped green onions
    1 can water chestnuts, sliced
    1 pkg. frozen peas, rinsed (not cooked)
    2 c. Miracle Whip dressing, spread on top
    2 Tbsp. sugar, sprinkle over top
    1 c. finely grated Romano cheese, sprinkle over sugar
    3 hard-boiled eggs, chopped
    6 slices bacon, crisply fried and crumbled
Preparation
    In a 9 x 13-inch pan, layer the ingredients in the order listed.
    Let set in refrigerator 8 hours.
    Garnish with eggs and bacon.
    Serves 8.
