Coconut Frosting - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (6 oz.) can evaporated milk
    2/3 c. sugar
    1/4 c. butter or margarine
    1 slightly beaten egg
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 1/3 c. flaked coconut
    1/2 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    In saucepan, combine milk, sugar, butter, egg and dash of salt.
    Cook and stir over medium heat until mixture thickens and bubbles, about 12 minutes.
    Add remaining ingredients.
    Cool. Frosts top of 13 x 9 x 2-inch cake or two 8-inch layers.
