Pumpkin Cookies With Penuche Frosting - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shortening
    1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 c. canned pumpkin
    1 egg
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. nuts
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar together.
    Add pumpkin, egg and vanilla; mix well.
    Sift dry ingredients and add to cream mixture. Add nuts.
    Drop by teaspoon onto ungreased baking sheets.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 10 to 12 minutes.
    Frost.
    Makes 7 dozen.
